Key to Success
That was a question I received yesterday from a brand new reader.
First I’ll say this…
Here’s my mission: To go to bed every night knowing that I have taken new actionable and measurable steps that day that will directly impact my 4 primary goals:
1. Creating a new 7 figure a year income for my family in the next 16 months.
2. Exercising at least 3 times per week and maintaining a healthy diet in order to become as healthy as I can possibly be.
3. Providing value and becoming a better leader and mentor to other entrepreneurs.
4. Helping as many people as possible break away from the life and lifestyle they hate, and discover the path that will allow them to realize their dreams, whatever they may be.
While I do realize that you can’t necessarily be all things to all people, I really don’t care if you just turned your computer on for the first time, or you’ve been making over a million dollars per year marketing online for the past decade, I’m going to talk directly to those at both ends of the spectrum.
Funny thing is that quite often those who think they’ve either seen it all or done it all are the ones who most easily get off track and lose sight of many the fundamental elements of being a successful entrepreneur. They are also the ones that quite often are knowledge rich and wallet poor. I get off track all the time, and in this day and age of endless distractions, it’s very difficult to stay focused.
I don’t care who you are or what business you’re in, here’s what’s most important:
1. Develop a millionaire mindset. Whatever your goals and dreams, know that you can do it. You can absolutely do anything at all the you put your mind to, and don’t ever think otherwise or let anything that others may think have a negative influence on you. Get your mind right. Be relentless in your quest, and it WILL happen for you.
2. Have a clear vision of why you are doing what you are doing. Know your “Why” in life. Yeah, money is great and we all want as much of it as we can get, but you have to have a purpose other than just financial. When (not if) you get all that money and achieve all your dreams, what are you going to do to give back? How are you going to help others? What are you going to do that will make a real difference in other people’s lives? If you don’t have that clear vision now, begin to develop it.
3. Become a master marketer. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you have, marketing is the fuel that drives it’s success. Once you have mastered the art of marketing you have the keys to the kingdom. You can virtually go into any business you chose and be successful. And notice I didn’t say internet marketing. Marketing is marketing and offline is just as important as online.
4. Never stop learning. Learn something new everyday that will help you to become a better marketer.
5. Take that marketing knowledge and put it into action every day. All the knowledge in the world is useless if you don’t do anything with it. Get out a piece of paper right now and write down 3 things you are going to do today that will get you closer to your goals. Then do them. Repeat this every day until you have reached your goal, then set a new goal. Get the idea here?
6. Focus, focus, and then focus some more! Stop chasing all the bright shiny objects and devote all your energy to one thing and become the best at it. It doesn’t matter whether you want to open a brick and mortar franchise, be an online affiliate marketer or a network marketer, a marketing consultant or a seminar speaker. Whatever it is…go ALL IN, or you’re not in at all. This is the biggest success killer of everybody who decides to go into business for themselves. They are all over board and never commit to one thing. And here’s the deal…it really doesn’t matter what that one thing is. It could be as simple as picking a single product to market as an affiliate, then all you do every single day is market that one product. Write one blog post about it, write and distribute one article about it, then create and distribute one video about it. Do this for 90 days straight and watch what happens!
Start everyday with all these things in mind, and end everyday with a plan for the following day.
Be disciplined and be relentless.
